Senior Recognition: Megan Mogus

The Cooper High School Track Team would like to recognize these seniors for all their hard work and dedication to their team and academics during their careers. Unfortunately, due to a global health crisis in our world today, all KHSAA athletic events have been cancelled for the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic year. Because we were not able to properly send-off our student-athletes, we hope that this small gesture of appreciation and recognition shows our love and gratitude for all of our student-athletes.

Parents/Guardians: Curt and Kelly Mogus

Favorite Track Memory: My favorite track memory was sophomore year at regionals when I was running the 100 hurdles and just PRed, but because the last row of hurdles were moved too far up from the line they made all the runners do it again. I was really nervous since I had just run that event but I ended up PRing again and getting a better time!

Academic Achievements: I’m a member of the National Honor Society and I received The Excellence Scholarship from NKU.

Athletic Achievements: I was on Varsity for 5 years and I was a part of the Shuttle hurdles group that broke Cooper’s school record last year. This year I participated in the Dopey Challenge at RunDisney, where I ran a 5k, 10k, half, and full marathon in four days.

Who were your biggest supporters? My biggest supporters are my parents, they have watched me run track for 7 years and have encouraged me throughout it all to be the best I can be.

What are your plans for after graduation? I plan on going to NKU and majoring in Business Informatics and minoring in Electronic, Media, and Broadcasting.

Any words of advice you have for your teammates. As you can see, nothing is promised so don’t take any small moments for granted. Leave it all out on the track and work hard because you never know if that will be the last time you can run.

THANK YOU MEGAN
